Chris’ Process

Chris is driven to salvage the most exquisitely grained wood in trees that are destined for the land fill. His amazing pieces, often turned of burl, demonstrate meticulous attention to style and form. Pytlik’s creative process requires patience as a piece can take up to a year to dry. Rough cutting, rough turning, final turning, and finishing. Each must be done in their proper turn with great skill to achieve the beauty in Chris’ works of art.

Signature Work Process

Chris’ signature pieces go through a dye staining process which may include a theme. Followed by a multi coat lacquering process resulting in a blown glass or glazed effect.
